Description

Definition: Zirconia ceramic ball bearing  (ZCB) is also known as zirconia hybrid bearing, the rolling element is zirconia ceramic ball, inner ring and outer ring is metal. The structure is the same as metal bearings.


Material: kinds of ferrule: bearing steel, stainless steel. Kinds of ceramic balls: zirconia.


Precision: P0~P4


Size range: minimum inner diameter 3mm, maximum outer diameter 250mm

Zirconia Ceramic Ball Bearings

Advantages:

1 Higher limit speed: zirconia is lighter than steel which means less centrifugal force, so it will higher the limit speed in the same precision.

2 High-precision situations: ceramic’s hardness and young modulus is both higher than steel, less mechanical deformation under the same load, so it can used in High-precision situations.

3 The service life is longer, 5 times than steel bearings: ceramic is lighter to have less high-precision situations and less roller path load , and because of the friction coefficient is smaller than steel, the operate temperature is lower to reduce the attrition, extend the service life of roller path.

4 Insulation: zirconia are non-conducting, therefore they can be used for insulative situations.

5 Poor lubrication or unlubricated situations: A) the contamination between silicon nitride and steel will not occur under poor lubricated situations. This means its service life is much longer when ceramics hybrid bearings operate under bad dynamic lubrication.B) Silicon nitride balls can resist corrosion, even thought the corrosion happened in ferrule, bearings can still operate for a certain time.

Application area: high-speed motorized spindle bearings, machine tool spindle bearings, engine bit bearings, high speed spindle bearings, and bearings in HDD , roller skate , fishing gear, model airplane,battery-operated toys.
